Well, I see some of my favorites fr New Fortune. The dim sum is amazing and a lively fun place. Are the soup dumplings still on the dim Sum menu? they r not actually “soup dumplings” they are called “pork bun dumpling” I think I remember. When you get them and bite into them, soup broth fills your palate with something “other worldly”. You actualy have to eat them on the chinese flat spoon…. time for a road trip back home to DC…

Gosh, but that looks good! I haven’t had dim sum for years. I used to go to LA’s Chinatown with friends from work, one of whom spoke Cantonese and did all of the ordering. The rest of us were never entirely sure what we were getting.
No chicken feet?!? LOL.

“Snowball in a wet paper bag”? Looks like a sticky rice ball to me, wrapped in bamboo leaves. Dragon Boat Festival is coming up, and that’s a traditional food for it: they’re called zongzi and have fruit inside, or other things like egg, sweet bean paste, or meat. I think at Dim Sim restaurants they serve them year-round though.

New Fortune is a busy place. I’ve been there on weekends and has alway been packed. You were just a few minutes away from the parish were I attend Mass when I’m in the area, St. Martin de Tours in Gaithersburg, Maryland.
